75-year-old Gospel singer accused of sexually abusing man he lured to his home after promising to give him a job

A gospel singer in New Jersey, US has been accused of sexually abusing a man in his home after luring him there with the promise of a job.

Albert J. Lewis Jr., 75, told the alleged victim that he could get him a job with the NJ transit but first he’d have to get more information by visiting an address in Newark — which turned out to be Lewis’ home, said the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office.

The 41-year-old Congolese man showed up, and Lewis allegedly said he’d have to perform a physical examination to make sure he was fit for the NJ Transit post, prosecutors said.

It is claimed that Lewis told the man to strip, then allegedly performed an “act of criminal sexual contact,” prosecutors allege.

Lewis was arrested this week Tuesday, February 8 and charged with criminal sexual contact, unlicensed practice of medicine and luring of an adult.

Lewis is the executive director of the Dr. Albert J. Lewis Gospel Hour, described by NJ.com as the second longest nationally syndicated gospel TV show in the country.
