Kaduna Airport to resume flight operations on October 23

Air Peace, a Nigerian airline, has revealed plans to resume its operations in Kaduna starting from October 23, 2023.

The spokesperson for the airline, Stanley Olisa, stated in a press release that Air Peace has made necessary arrangements to recommence flights to Kaduna on the specified date.

Olisa acknowledged that the Kaduna route had been inactive for 19 months due to security concerns, but expressed the airline’s delight in restoring connectivity to the city. The Kaduna International Airport had experienced a period of inactivity following attacks by bandits, leading to the suspension of flight operations by Azman, the sole airline operating in the state at that time.

Although Azman later resumed operations, the high ticket prices, exceeding N100,000 for a one-way trip from Abuja to Kaduna, reflected the security challenges faced in the area. Currently, the airport remains dormant with no airline operating there, despite previously hosting Air Peace, Aero Contractors, Arik Air, Med-View, and Azman.

However, according to Olisa, flight schedules for Kaduna are now available on the Air Peace website, and ticket sales have already commenced. He encouraged members of the flying public to visit the Air Peace website or use the mobile app to make their bookings.
