Adamawa man sells neighbours’ six children under guise of enrolling them in missionary school

A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Yola, Adamawa State on Tuesday, March 1, ordered the remand of a resident of the state, Yohanna Saidolo, for stealing his neighbors’ kids and selling them off.

Police prosecutor, Inspector Ibrahim Aliyu, had earlier informed the court that a resident of Koma, Markus Anthony, and 5 others reported to the police on February 5 that the defendant deceived them and  allegedly took 6 of their children to an unknown destination. According to Anthony, the defendant of the same address deceived him and others in the name of enrolling their children in a missionary school in Jimeta and allegedly took 6 of their kids to a destination not known to them.

After the plea of the defendant, the prosecutor applied that the matter be adjourned to enable them to conclude the investigation for the purpose of transmitting the case file to DPP for advice. While ruling on the application, magistrate Alheri, said the offense ran contrary to sections 257 and 259 of the state penal code law, 2018.

He then adjourned the matter to March 25th and ordered the remand of the defendant as prayed.
