Akeredolu Approves N515m For Payment Of WASSCE Fees

Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has approved N515m for the payment of 2022 West African Secondary School Certificate Examination registration fees for SS3 pupils in public secondary schools in the state.

The governor earlier this year approved payment of the 2021 WASSCE registration fees for the pupils.

According to reports, the state Ministry of Education, Science and Technology had received the governor’s approval.

Speaking on the development, the state Commissioner for Education, Science & Technology, Mr Femi Agagu, described the gesture as historic and commended the governor for the payment.

Agagu linked the gesture to the governor’s desire and commitment to the development of the education sector in the state.

He said:

“The gesture was borne out of Mr Governor’s desire to uplift the standard of education in the state as well as his resolve to assist indigent students in achieving their educational pursuit.”
