Dare: FG Initiating Handover Process of Obafemi Awolowo Stadium to Oyo Government
Sunday Dare, the former Minister of Youths and Sports Development, has announced that the process for the federal government to hand over the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium in Oke Ado, Ibadan, to the Oyo state government is currently in an advanced stage.
Dare, who received a Lifetime Achievement award during the “Veterans Day” event held as part of the activities for the 2023 Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Oyo state council Press Week, shared this information at the NUJ Press Centre on Thursday. Dare, also known as the Agba-Akin of Ogbomoso, made the disclosure during the award ceremony.
Sunday Dare, the former Minister of Youths and Sports Development, has shared that the approval for the handover of the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium in Oke Ado, Ibadan, to the Oyo state government is expected to be granted by the administration led by President Bola Tinubu in the next several weeks. Dare highlighted that his efforts as minister had already resulted in the successful handover of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna to the Kaduna state government.
