Peter Mbah to Close Down Enugu Schools and Businesses Participating in Biafra’s Sit-at-Home Observance

Enugu state Governor, Peter Mbah, has made it clear that any schools or businesses in the region that choose to adhere to the Monday sit-at-home order issued by the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) will face closure.

The governor made this announcement during a public address on Saturday, emphasizing his decision to nullify the Monday sit-at-home directive in the state starting from June 6.

Governor Mbah urged the residents of Enugu to resume their normal daily routines without any apprehension, as he assured them that comprehensive security measures have been implemented to ensure their safety. His statement aimed to instill confidence in the people, indicating that they can freely engage in their activities without any fear or disruption.

This is to inform all schools, markets, retail outlets, hospitals, transporters, malls and the general members of the public that, in view of the recent ban/cancellation of Mondays’ sit-at-home by the government of Enugu state, in all nooks and crannies of the state, they have been directed to go about their normal businesses and activities every day of the week, including Mondays,” the statement reads.

The above-mentioned bodies and others alike are required to comply with the directive.

“Members of the government’s task force will be moving around to monitor compliance. Any market, transport outlet, or any other body that fails to open for business risks being shut down immediately.”
