Tems debunks reports on her views about Nigerian music
After her revealing interview alongside rapper Kendrick Lamar, singer Tems has responded to fabricated rumours suggesting she criticised Nigerian music for being basic and lacking depth.
Tems has swiftly addressed the false reports circulating about her recent interview, where she was misquoted as describing Nigerian music as “plain and basic.” She vehemently denied making such statements, emphasising her deep appreciation for the richness and complexity of Nigerian music and the cultural significance it holds.
Tems, in a post on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, responded in the comment section of the fake reports that she never said anything of the sort, and for such a media outlet to imply that was just embarrassing and distasteful.
Tems, in her interview session with Kendrick Lamar, opened up on so many issues, such as how she got into music, why she started producing her own songs, and how she struggles as an artist with her craft. It was an insightful and thoughtful interview that gave a better insight into her as a person and as an artist.
